Vision and Action Plan

The Sustainability Development Cell (SDC) is a dedicated entity focused on promoting sustainable practices and fostering sustainability initiatives within an organization or community. The Sustainability Cell is a dedicated entity that will play a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices, fostering awareness, and driving positive change within our university community and beyond.

The establishment of the Sustainability Cell represents SBUP’s commitment to creating a sustainable future and instilling a sense of responsibility among our students, faculty, and staff. Together, we can contribute to the global efforts towards sustainable development and be at the forefront of positive change

Vision

Engage faculty, students, and staff in ongoing dialogue, inquiry, and discovery of more sustainable practices through curriculum, degree, certificate programs, and scholarly research. Empower students across the curriculum with an awareness of sustainability issues and a capacity to contribute to the construction of sustainable societies.

Mission

Our community of students, faculty, and staff continually advances our understanding, capabilities, and practices in this vital journey. As an institution of higher learning, we lead and educate by example, inspiring new generations prepared to share the knowledge and practices of Sustainability with ingenuity and passion.

Goal and Purpose

The goal of the Sustainability Cell at Sri Balaji University is to create a culture of sustainability, where every member of our university community understands their role in addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. The purpose of the cell is to :

Educate and Raise Awareness

  • Promote education for sustainable development by integrating sustainability concepts and practices into our curriculum.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to foster a deeper understanding of sustainability among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Encourage research and innovation in sustainable solutions and technologies.

Drive Sustainable Campus Operations

  • Implement sustainable practices in campus operations, including energy and water conservation, waste management, and green infrastructure.
  • Establish green procurement policies and practices to prioritize environmentally friendly and socially responsible products and services.
  • Monitor and reduce the environmental footprint of our campus by implementing energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy systems, and sustainable transportation options.

Engage and Empower the University Community

  • Encourage active student participation in sustainability initiatives through clubs, volunteer programs, and student-led projects.
  • Empower students, faculty, and staff to become sustainability champions and change agents within the university and beyond.
  • Foster collaboration and partnerships with local communities, NGOs, and industry stakeholders to address sustainability challenges collectively.

Sustainability Management as a Course started in the Year 2023 it is a three Credit Compulsory Course for our MBA Students.
